Transition games are educational tools and can be used wherever we want to raise awareness and increase motivation for engaging in systemic transitions towards sustainability and regeneration. A game is a safe space for experimenting, grabs the imagination, and helps us foresee both opportunities and setbacks.

Teachers in high school, university lecturers, and people working in corporate training or change management will find the games useful for their work. We can support you to create your own Transition Game with your students or team. Playing a simulation game builds team spirit and creates learning in a way that no formal class, lecture or meeting can achieve.

In Transition Games we work with scenarios that either foster or hinder a desirable transition. The game board takes players through an authentic or imaginary landscape from where they pick up scenario cards and jokers. If a favourable scenario is found or created by the players, a token moves up the progress bar from red via yellow to green. Each player embodies a role that is relevant to the transition topic. The Morecambe Bay Pollinators game uses actual locations around Morecambe Bay and local knowledge about pollinators, so that players interact with realistic scenarios.
