Project manager in game-based publishing for sustainability (part-time)

The company
Ishara Press CIC is a community interest company (i.e. a type of social enterprise) incorporated in the UK and located at White Cross Business Park, South Road, Lancaster. With our publishing portfolio we serve cross-sectoral initiatives worldwide working in sustainability and regeneration. We innovate in the areas of Serious Games and Impact Publishing, with a strong focus on gamified multimedia content.
The role
We are looking for a project manager to support the development of our sustainability-related series Regen-D (“regenerative design”) and Transition Games, and to support the work of our newly established Game Studio.
The ideal candidate will:
- have excellent oral and written communication skills;
- be comfortable with IT-mediated communication and collaboration (e.g. Zoom, Slack, Miroboard);
- be a curious and fast learner;
- be motivated to support sustainability and regeneration as part of an ethical business;
- be well-organised, flexible, and with attention to detail.
We offer an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to quickly expand their responsibilities in the post and build their skills. We provide supportive mentoring and purposeful personal development, including for candidates without previous experience in the publishing sector.
The post of project manager involves the following duties:
- To contribute to workflows towards the publication of Serious Games in our Regen-D and Transition series.
- To assist with external events and internal organisation at the Press.
- To maintain an up-to-date website.
- To contribute to the strategy and content of external publicity.
The terms
Start date: 01 May 2024 or asap thereafter
Working hours: flexible 1 day per week (7.5 hours) initially, with potential for longer hours over time
Salary: £28,500 pro rata, plus additional benefits
Place of work: Hybrid, remote with attendance in Lancaster at least once per month
Probation: 3 months
